Presenting: Segments

Filters play a crucial role in project management. They are especially useful when creating custom views of your Gantt chart by only bringing up specific parameters and options.

And since we know how important it is to quickly be able to visualize information, we created Segments, our newest feature. With Segments, you can easily create custom filtered views, save them, and access them whenever you need.

‍Here's how it works: head over to your project and customize the view with filters of your choice. Go to the Segments section and click on “Save active filters”. Simply assign a name to your new Segment, and you’re ready to go!

Save Time With Templates

Templates can be great tools when you’re looking to maintain the basic structure of a project, and build the rest as you go on. Here’s how you can access the Template Gallery so you can start taking advantage of these incredible time-savers.

To use a template from our gallery, head over to Projects, find the template you would like to use, click on the + icon, and select "From Template". Now you can simply give your new project a name and a start day.

Templates

And if you’re looking to use one of your projects as a template, you can easily achieve this by heading over to the top toolbar and clicking on the “Duplicate Project'' option. You can even choose between copying your current project’s field information or selecting the specific fields you would like to copy to your new project.

Enable a Default View for your Project

Now, you can easily select a default view for your different projects, without having to toggle between views each time you revisit them. This new feature will allow you to choose between Gantt, Board, Overview, or Workload view with just one simple click.

Head over to the top of the screen and look for the gear icon next to the project's name. There you'll find the option to "Set default view", where you can select the best option from every available view.

New Task Button in Workload View

We know that Workload View can be especially useful when managing how loaded your team is with tasks. This is why we've included a New Task button, which will allow you to create week-long tasks with just a few clicks.

Head over to Workload View and locate the + New Task button. Click on it and you'll immediately notice that a blue bar will appear. By default, the task will be created as a week-long task (the length will depend on the working days you've set for your weeks). Place the bar where you'd like to schedule the task, and just click on it. A dialog will open to let you choose the section and the name of the new task. Enter that info and click on "Create Task". You’re ready to go!
